Day 12: I Think She is Seriously in Love With Me

We were supposed to operate on three cases but the last case, an elderly man with patella fracture declined surgery because of lack of money.

We started surgery around 10am, though we should have started since 8am. Our first case is a case of non-union of about 2 years duration. We did open reduction and internal fixation with plate and screw and bone grafting to bridge the gap of the non-united bone. I assisted the surgeon, we spent about an hour maintaining haemostasis, and by the time I closed the skin we have already spent more than 3 hours.

Our second case is an auto amputation and we want to refashion the stump. We amputated the exposed bone, freshen the edges, and closed the skin.

I eventually left the theatre around 4pm and went for AGM planning committee meeting where we were trying to put final changes to the up coming programme.

My patient girlfriend wants a commitment from me and I think she is seriously in love with me.

I got home around 7pm.
